Hi Everyone,
just a quick post to remind anyone who has got carried away [like myself] with the fun of creating themes and media we can use on our new clever little best friends.
i service my regional entertainment industry client-base with technology services and general advice. once such client is a distribution network spending serious money preparing media they have licensed. as we know, many entertainment companies are vigorous with the defence of their investments, i.e cartoon characters, films, music, music video etc.
this week i myself created two themes using old material that i was sure nobody would mind me using. after doing some further research, this proved not to be the case at all. so i have been informed, all copyright material being used by non licence holders is generally pursued. in some cases single individuals have been fined heavily [not just the big guys] personally i think this is a crap policy, but it's not up to me. given the fact that mobiles, their networks, and most wap/websites can be traced back to an individual who will be held responsible we perhaps should be weary of this.
may i suggest you post links to official sites and/or offer you own compositions to avoid having to give any lawyers and more drinking money.
