Why not just get a new webmail account from a mail provider that dont wants ssl and forward the gmails to that and get the gmails to ur mobile from the other account. SSL - Secure Socket Layer wich the phones dont support.

No SSL SSL-
SMTP 25 465
HTTP 80 443
IMAP4 143 993
POP3 110 995
NNTP 119 563

i have r2aa...but i noticed a bug that makes impossible to send gmail from phone, although itīs possible to download mail:

inside the encription optins menu, you have to out the mail-in domain (pop.gmail.com) and the mail-out domain (smtp.gmail.com)

well, the ingoing mail works ok, so iīm able to receive mails from gmail in my k700 BUT the outgoing-mail doesnīt work because the "m" from the domain keeps disapearing - altough i inputed it correctly and saved it, everytime i go to the encription menu to check the outgoing domain i always find "smtp.gmail.co"!!!! So, itīs clearly a bug!!!

I guess it will be easily corrected in the next firmware

I cant seem to understand how to input the username. Apparently you need to use "@gmail.com" is this true? I cant find "@" symbol. Did i understand it wrong?

I also have R2AA.

I confirm the 'smtp.gmail.co' bug. So I can't send email through gmail. Annoying!

But, I can't receive it either. Everything works fine if my inbox is empty. It connects, sees no messages, and tells me such. But if there is a message, the phone freezes while 'Recieving Messages.' Any idea why I'd be seeing this, if it works for others?

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server – requires SSL: pop.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server – requires TLS: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port: 465 or 587
Account Name: your Gmail username (including '@gmail.com')
Email Address: your full Gmail email address (username@gmail.com)

I confirm the bug with the disappearing m at the end of the smtp.gmail.com ssl domain. I cannot receive or send emails from/to my gmail account. I have a K700i handset which I bought a few days ago. Does anyone know whether there is a firmware patch or any other way to get this fixed?

I forward all my mails to another pop3 account and then access it from there.
