Nokia is giving up on there Software by replacing Symbian in all there phones ..
see that all Nokia new phones has been replaced by Symbian OS
so where the hell that great menu of Nokia
doesnt means there menu is old and it comes to the end and they cant be at the top
and
now i cant see a different between Nokia - Siemens - Samsung or any device have Symbian installed
so where is the flavor
and what about the old people
they doesnt interest is Symbian and installed software
they only care to have a big screen , big fonts and easy for use phone ...

The flavour is still on their interface Series 60, which is Nokia's property.

I'll explain this for the 1158th time:

Symbian is the OS used.
Then there's the interface which can be Series 60, UIQ, or any other that might be developed.

Nokia usually has a Symbian 6.1 OS with their Series 60 interface on top of it. Pxxx on the other hand have Symbian 7.0 with UIQ interface on top of it. [addsig]

yeah i know that
but SE only use the PXXX series with SYmbian OS 7.0
not all there phones , SE says that they r strong they can be big and have the latest menu owned and licensed
But Nokia now all there phones are equiped with Symbian S60
so that means they come to the end of there menu
and what do u see a different from Samsung - Siemens and any S60 symbian phone
only design and Brand name
so there isnt a flavor anymore of having our own flavor and taste

I think you didn't read my post...
It's not Symbian S60, it's NOKIA S60.
The flavour is theirs! S60 is theirs! If other companies bought licenses to use their interface, it's just a strategy.

Nokia just relieved themselves from creating an OS, leaving that job for Symbian and putting their efforts on the appearence other than the functionality.

Hell, i wish used Symbian in ALL their phones... [addsig]

@coolfighter: 2 be able 2 see d point, u may need 2 get ur hands on a symbian phone each 4rm nokia & se; its clear dat d menu are very different. Symbian being d most capable OS for smartphones, nokia is smart using it,but d interface (seies 60) is 100% nokia. U definitely cant xpect nokia smartphones 2 operate like regular not-so-smart phones

You need to work out your sentence punctuation...

I'm just trying to say that it's not that silly for Nokia to abandon their own OS.

They just thought that easier and cheaper to use an already stable OS in their phones, instead of developing a new one (for their lower end phones).

Heck, always has stability issues when releasing new phones, and we always have to make updates for those problems to be solved. [addsig]

@coolfighter: About seris60 & its apps on Samsung & siemens smartphones, its really simple. Those 2 manufacturers licenced series60 menu/interface 4 use on their own products. Its not nokia giving up their menu;its others taking advanage of nokia's easy-2-use menu.Did I answer well dis time?

Ok... to try and explain things as well...

Symbian is the OS... Nokia uses 6.x, SE uses 7.x

Series 60 and UIQ are the shells that go on TOP of the OS

Series 60 is owned by Nokia
UIQ is owned by UIQ (which was a division of Ericsson)

SE uses UIQ 2.0 and 2.1 on it's P series phones

Nokia uses, and plans to use Series 60 across all phones.

UIQ is developing UIQ 3.0 for standard smartphones... which SE may use on it's NON hybrid phones... the interface looks pretty similar to SE's current proprietary OS so SE users won't be confused.
