I have a brand new T68i on vodafone.

First thing I noticed that the box for the phone didn't have any Vodafone branding. Is that likely to mean that it'll work on any network?
Because i made them price match I'm wondering if they had to give me one of the phones which aren't network specific and then just shoved a sim card in.
The sim card is really hard to get out so i haven't tried.

Second thing.
From sending tones in the "make your phone walk" thread, when i select a melody and select send and then via sms the lil picture of a phone book comes up. usually when sending texts I'd select options and then select the phone memory and get all my stored numbers... but when sending the melody I just get a beep when i press options.
This means I have to type the number in manually... this seems kinda off to me... and its just when sending melodys... any ideas??

TIA

you can check the sim lock... enter the servicemenu (right * left left * left *), you find SIM lock under Service info, if any of the padlocks are locked it means the phone is sim locked

you can also see if the phone is sim locked by looking at the productnumber (beginning with 2561/) written on the label underneath the battery.

phones bought on Voda

are unlocked

so enjoy it - thats why new phones usuaully come out on voda / O2 first as they dont brand their handsets - they ship em out straight from amnufactuerer.

When you get that phone book thingy after writing the text, move the joystick to the left, and select phonebook or groups etc.
