I thought It might interest somebody : The highly expected,much talked about 6630 has finally hit the shelf store. As from wednesday the 3-th Nov. the production lines are running at full capacity and the item is exported all over the world. Ask your local nokia dealer for availability and price. IMHO this is the first trully cellphone with 3g/edge capability which will really help this networks to become as popular as the 2/2.5g is today.Please don't be to harsh with your comments. Let time be the judge. Greetings from South Africa,
Mario

It's a nice device. But for videocalls you need additional hardware. Why? Videocalling is one of the most challenging new features from 3G. |

The launch has been, obviously, timed with the christmas shopping season.(old nokia trick) Wait just after new-year and you will get it for £200.

Yeah buddy you are right. All of them are using the by now standard S60. I wish SE will work with Nokia (royalty fees etc) and license the S60. Imagine a P1000 moderately priced on a S60 platform :-))) without the cumbersome stylus, and about 4x faster then the P910 + t9 and smaller overall ! (Oh shit am I describing the 6630 ?)

who would want a p1000 like that? yeah sure s60 is nice and all but really a p1000 with s60 would be a major downgrade in my opinion, heck the touchscreen makes all the difference in the world, 4x faster?
rofl.... have you ever even used a p910? t9? well that's a common future in the p series (except of course the p800 which was the first p...)
sorry to say but after having a p900 and a 6600 i can without no doubt say that uiq wins on almost all things, the only thing good about s60 is games but i just can't imagine that someone who spend 800$ on a phone would like to play games on it... at least i didn't.....
anyway different people different needs no need to start this in to a yet another uiq vs s60 war... |

@mmsman
since u r such an authority on P900, can u tell us what is so good about P900 compared to S60 (other than the touchscreen, sky-high price, fragility, limited size/expensive memory card, complicated UI, fewer software support and size/weight).

Nokia Series 60 supports a touch screen - too. Look at Nokia 7710. (In some points, it uses also some features of Series 80.)

Buddy, sorry to contradict you, but the 7710 is Nokia's answer to the SE P910 and has got nothing to do with the S60 !(Althou it may be able to emulate it given the raw power it comes out with.) As a matter of fact is a "improvement" on the S80 used in the communicator series (93 and 9500) is very futuristic and ment for cell addicts.The price is also sky high (like the P910's)
