Hi,
This is my first post here. Ive been lurking around for quite a while and it seems you guys are the best when it come to SE phones
I have a minor problem with my T610.
When i send a text message, my provider (o2) sends me a balance update every time which flashes up, showing remaining credit. This would be useful if it wasnt for the fact that I get 300 free texts on the talkalot PAYG package, so its kinda redundant and it interferes with using FMA to send messages also.
Is there a way to disable this function? I would REALLY like to turn it off!!!
Thanks guys,
Keith |

Welcome to Esato
I believe you can ring o2 and get it disabled but that is the only way

It doesn't bother me much on P900 as it just pops up & doesn't make a noise but on T6x0, K700 etc it plays the message tone which could get irritating.
Even more annoying though is that if you don't clear it off the screen u don't get any more message alerts..A message could arrive & u don't know until u clear the balance message!

It can become annoying, especially with the msg alert tones from the k7.however,it can be quite handy...try this;set your phone to "divert all calls".then, when someone phones you,you will be alerted by the low credit,or no credit warning.comes in handy when you want a day of peace.just press 1471,to find out the callers number.pretty useless to some, but i regularly do it :-D

I'd find missing every phone call and having to ring back more irritating than the balance alerts!

Done it already. yes phone o2 cust services and ask them to switch off your balance notification.
Then all it needs is a quick *#10# now and then...

Excellent, thats just what i was looking for I never go over my 300/mth texts and it was just pointless to keep getting told i had £7.43 or whatever in my account.
Thanks again!!
And thanks for the welcome mik!

I have a k750i, i get 400txt p/m with bolt-ons
and its blody irritating to be informed my ballance is £6.54 every time is end a txt. With the 750 it doesnt even play the message alert. It has an irritating little sound all of its own... im calling o2 when i get home. |
