Anyone on Vodacom struggling with email downloading on their phone(s)?

My phone's settings haven't been altered and have been working properly until a couple of weeks ago. Now, my phone connects at the specified download times but retrieves nothing. When I go in my gmail app or on my laptop I find new emails.

Any ideas?

LOL, as long as you're happy with it, V40 is good, but if you do plan on doing sum web browsing with your 5800 i'd recommend updating.
Dups
Havent had any problems, when i boot up Nokia Messaging it immediatly starts downloading my Emails.
By the way a close friend of mine upgraded from his awful E75 to the BB9700 Bold today, was helping him set it up, realy sweet phone, i realy like the build quality and the whole classy look it has,best looking BB by far. Im SO tempted to get a BB even if its the 8900Curve, all because of BB Messenger which is spreading like a wildfire, i think around 90% of my classmates in uni have BBs now, cant look at my FB Live feed without reading "Got a BB!! My BB pin is:xxx" its madness, and in class all you hear is vibrating BBs every couple of minutes, if BB could just release the service again to Symbian it would be great.

@Tsepz_GP

Thanks for your response. I just can't figure out what happened wirh my P1i. I'll try with the V8 or the W890i. Maybe I should just take out the 9700.

Like I said before, it is a brilliant phone in everything but smartphone capabilities. It is too much of a plain Jane for me to use it for long periods.
Yep, it really is the best looking Blackberry.

Been jolling all around Gauteng over the past few days. Only flying back on the 28th April. Was in Irene in Pretoria yesterday, then Randburg and Midrand (Nikon headquarters near Kyalami) later in the day, before heading to the Wanderers in Corlett Drive and finally returning to Mondeor in the south! Eish! Taken plenty pics with the P1i.
Yesterday I faffed around the SA Military Museum.
On Wednesday it was Sandton City, Village Walk and Nelson Mandela Square etc. (I shoulda PM'd you Tsepz..).
Tomorrow I'm off to a bike jol in Carltonville, so I'm certainly trying to make the most of the extended SA stay.

A few random P1i pics taken around Gauteng:

Did any of you Gautengers feel that tremor on Wednesday night? 2.4 on the Richter Scale. I thought it was an underground/mine explosion; nearly spilt my coffee, LOL.

Next time you're there i recommend sitting at Trumps,they make the best t-bone steak!
Didnt feel the tremor,but that could explain why the electricity on my side was just randomly knocked out for about 15mins that nite.

My favourite Droid has landed in SA, The MOTOROLA Milestone at just R289pm on MTN, wonder how much it will be on VodaCom, especialy seeing as its a MOTO, im guessing Free on a Talk240 maybe? As long as pay-in on a TopUp590 doesnt exceed R1500 think i maybe looking at my next phone.

@ Tsepz:
Yeah, I'll give Trumps a try next time I'm there. Eish,it was chaos on the R21 on Friday night, right near OR Tambo airport. Two trucks and 5 cars. At 3:30pm we got a call to avoid the area. At 9:30pm the road was still closed! People were braking down the fence to get access to the adjacent service road after being stranded for so many hours. Hectic.

Went past Soccer City. What a stadium!
Speaking of soccer, I watched the Amakhosi today, only to see them lose to FC Cape Town! WTF?!

Hows everyone doing? It's been a while
Wish I'd say I'd been studying all this time, was just lazy, even for the Net...

Didn't feel that tremor, but a few friends around here claim to have. Scary stuff, to think it was caused by a culmination of human activity...

The Moto Droid? The N8 specs are looking great!

Is the wifey keeping you away from us? dont be afraid to say so.
Lol, ye N8 is looking good,its been a weird couple of days, i decided to save up to pay-in for the Storm2 or get a 8900 THEN the next day i picked up MTN's brochure to find that the Milestone has arrived,AND THEN today i see the N8 is legit and probably has THEE best spec sheet, although Eldar doesnt seem totaly impressed,but i can definetly see myself rocking a Milestone in a couple of months. 3.7inch 854x480 display,plus a full QWERTY with Dpad,metal body and its thinner than the 5800 and N900, plus it uses the same internal hardware as N8, and the amount of apps and software support from Google etc... Its looking like a better deal than the N8 and N900, NOKIA seem to have taken on more than they can handle with Maemo - > MeeGo so have had to push back the date of release of the N900 successor and S60v5 - > Symbian^3 - > Symbian^4 its such a big mess. Motorola/Google seem to have more direction.

Spec sheet: http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n8-3252.php
Im sold LOL!
I like the Silver,reminds me of the Satio.
Looks like its got good batt life to, 50hours of Music Playback with a 1200mAh battery,more than the 5800 which can apparently do 35hours with its 1320mAh battery. Also 7hours video playback (6hours via HDMI) ,realy impressive.

@Tsepz_GP

Are you happy with it using ARM11? Also, the screen resolution is kinda low by today's high end standards.

I'm not excited by it, mainly because it is Symbian.

News are that Samsung is preparing its flagship Symbian device to be released in Q3. If SE also releases the successor to the Satio around the same quarter then this phone is in for a torrid time.

The good thing about the N8 is the price.
