No, I´m not looking for the correct way to enter into it
(like "1) Move up (>) 2) Press * (*) 3) Move down twice (4) Press * (*) 5) Move down (6) Press * (*) This brings you to the service menu for the P800.").

What I´m wondering about is - are there differences in the firmware providing for access / non-access in a p800 ? I´ve found a few post saying they couldn´t access menu that way (me either) - why is that? And what would be the "right" way in this case?

yep, thanks - but this is exactly what I wrote (seemingly a slightly strange way to type it).

But this DOESN´T work!?!

What now?

You have to do the steps with the flip closed

So going up one with the jogdial should bring up the shortcut for Contacts then press * which is under the 7 then continue with the rest

ok, sorry my mistake.. seems my brain got stuck into one description I´ve read few days ago.. there´s indeed a difference between "moving" up and "pressing" up..

hope I´m still under puppy protection..
