thank you but SE Japan site does not sell mobile phones...you will be directed to docomo, au or vodafone.

i'm looking for individual resellers not a general japanese SE site.

coz my new work requires me to stay half the time in japan and the other half in some other parts of asia-pac. i will be holding local lines for whichever country i am in (eg. if in australia, i will have a local australian line and when in japan i will have their line). makes more sense economically for the company

therefore i want to find out if i can buy phones from japan (esp since they are so much nicer) and use them when i am in japan or out of japan (with a gsm sim card)

i have not had much luck googling for online japanese mobile stores so i'm hoping there might be an esatoian living in japan who can help me.

thanks

lynn,

here is a wonderful site that may be of some help:

http://www.mobile-outlet.com/index.htm

i have a z1010 to sell for 35,000 if you need it. works very well with vodafone japan's 3g network in japan. can hand it over to you on one of yr visits to japan.
let me know if you need something. works well on 3g "3" networks abroad, and ofcourse on 2g networks in countries such contries as china and taiwan, etc.

Dont know about phones, but the best technics buy place is akihabara district. Look there. He you want multi region phone- only vodafone japan can help you now with their 2100 mghz network. Other networks work in frequences that exist only in japan. Cheers.

@ niji

thanks for the offer...i'm hoping to get a voda 802se or a voda 702nk coz i'd like to be able to use the same phone in japan and the rest of the world.

i also need to find out if i can stick some other SIM card and use the phone. I don't mind the voda branding but there is no vodafone in some of the countries i travel to they do not have vodafone (pre-paid or post)

thanks!!

you can only use the 802se with other sims if you un lock it first. one place you can go for that is setool . net

i believe you have to download the software, and then buy un locking credits. You can un lock the phone and keep the japanese fireware (and keep the ability to type Japanese characters) or you can also flash the phone with new english firmware. you can also get rid of the D R M which stops you from playing regular mp3's.
