Ok. I use my 7650 phone as a modem via an infrared doogle. All works fine but after 1-2 minutes the phone lose contact with the pc. I've tried many times and same problem.. I've tested with my r520 and all went fine (more than 2 hours), no intreruption! Any idea why the 7650 do this?

@govigov no, the infrared is stil activated and blinks (like in 'waiting' mode).. when i want to connect again i dont have to do nothing, just click connect (on pc) and it will make a internet connection for 1-2mins.. dont know why..

Funny problem you've got buddy. My infrared internet works like a dream.Nowadays I only use bluetooth but I use to logon thru infrared 2+years ago and it was fine. Why don't you upgrade to bluetooth buddy?Nokia massproduced infrared links a few years back but now bluetooth is king.

@JN good one :) @mario maybe my software version is the problem (4.37)? What version do u got? When i connect to pc i go to connectivity and chose modem. I think i've also tried just activing the ir. Windowsxp detect it automaticaly and install an standard ir link modem driver. That's how you'd connected via ir?

Ok I've just dusted off my old infrared usb connector and install it. Thanks to Mr. Bill, win-XP insists on using its own infrared port driver, and guess what after a minute or so got disconnected :-( after installing nokia's driver from my old pc-suit cd, I've "upgraded" to this "older" version. Windows protested as usual, but I proceeded and now I can stay on the net with my 7650 thru the infrared port all day long. (not that I want to) I still think you should change to bluetooth or even better change from windows to unix, linux, xenix etc. ,anything but windows !

I've searched with google for the nokia7650irda.inf and i've found the source code of this inf file.
I've made a new file, then renamed it to .inf file and had pasted the code of the original "nokia7650irda.inf" into my file.

I got the source code from:
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/archive/t-2235

-
But, unfurtonately the same problem, it still disconnects me

I will try do download N7650_Modem_Setup.exe from Nokia's site later, but i think it will not help, since the INF file was important...
