K i got a vodafone branded s700 cos it was free but i want to unlock it now so i bouhg the t28 cable which is supposed to plug into the serial port and not a usb port but i dont know which serial port to plug it to and how to configure it once its plugged in. Could anyone help me who knows about these kind of things on computers, bare in mind i dont know much or technical language.

It´s not that hard really.. plug it in on back of computer where it fits possibly you have two identical sockets/COM-ports, just use any of them. Connect to totalserver, choose COM1 and press "read CID" that will show you if you have found the correct COM-port before wasting money on a failed operation. If nothing happens you have most likely plugged your cable in COM2, change to that in Totalserver and redo the "Read CID" If you still get no response dialog, chances are you´ve been had and received a T28 DATA instead of SERVICE cable.
