has anybody heard about any definite launch plans for use of the qualcomm chip that allows for a fone to be able to access both gsm and cdma2000 networks?
approximately 2 years ago the chip was made available for sampling to handset makers. however, i havent heard of any definite launch plans made by any service provider or handset maker yet.
has anybody heard anything on this lately from any service provider?

Although on paper it seems a superb idea, i think there are a lot of regulatory issues that need to be sorted out before it can become reality. But, this might help achieving standardisation within the industry.
