How can they do that?!
It can't be HID (autosend command when there is an incoming call (?! wow!) )
It can't be Java (no JSR-82 for non-UIQ phones)
What is it, and how can we develop applications like that ?

Does anyone know if you need to have additional software on your pc to actually allow the remote program to work ?
I have bluetooth on my pc etc but haven't a clue how to get any of the programs to work with the software on the phone.
Can anyone shed any light ?

The k700 and s700 have a limited bluetooth HID functionality built-in. Essentially, that means they can emulate a standard bluetooth mouse. Any operating system (and drivers) that can support a bluetooth mouse can, theoretically, accept a k700/s700 acting as a mouse. As a Mac user, I can't comment on how to get it working on a Wintel PC, but once you've paired the devices, on the phone (using a K700 as an example), you go to Connectivity -> Bluetooth -> Remote Control.

@sathomasga
I can get as far as trying to activate the win dvd, desktop .hid files etc, it finds my device but cannot connect. From the sounds of things my PC doesn't have the relvant drivers to support the applications I am trying to run. Will have a look around and then have a play.

you have to be using the generic microsoft bluetooth drivers , then you have to bring up the services menu for the phone on the computer and check the box next to HID. The media one only works for media player and only when its maximized. |

As i said you need to enable the HID service for your phone or it wont work , it's on the same menu where you enable virtual com ports and dial up networking

Note : you need sp2 for full bluetooth support , the 3rd party drivers are usually dodgy like the belkin ones. |

You dont need SP2 for full support! I have used remote control via BT since summer between my pc and k700, works just fine on SP1.
I use remote with winamp, thats very nice. There are remote profiles for different applications, like winamp, to download to your phone! |
