Hi,

Just got myself an S700i. Got a great deal from Voda but not very happy with the way they've restricted the functionality of the phone. So, is there a way to flash the phone to original SE S700i software? Is the anyone doing it in London?

well i had a voda branded phone. got the new client and some credit (+cable) from my local retailer and tried to debrand my phone. the firmware file flashes fine, then it comes to the language file. i try that and it installs all the way then i get to:
'enabling functionalities....."
'error connecting to server!'

then it ends and the phone is rendered useless as i had to take it back to vodafone. vodafone (uk) claimed not to have any software to flash it again for me, so gave me a brand new phone.
unfortunately its still voda branded and the responses im getting from my retailer is 'read the instructions'
does anybody have any suggestions. the files im using are
s700_R3B032_ZONE_1.S7S (firware) and
s700_S3S032_EU1.S7D (language)

sorry that was a typo im using S700_R3B032_ZONE_1.S7S firmware and S700_R3B032_EU1.S7D language.

still no joy, the supplier is sending me a new t28 cable, im just wondering what part the customization file has to play as the client i use only has options for the firmware and default language.
i cant figure if im being uber retarded or if it just aint workin.
the instructions on the unbranding kit page dont involve a customization file, yet on the read me language txt file on the client they say it does need to be used. - but where and when?

Jimmy, I had problems too.

Eventually it worked, one thing you might try is going into:
Control Panel - System - Device Manager - Ports(COM&LPT) - Communications Port (COM#) {where COM# is the port the T28 cable is plugged to}

Click the tab labeled "Port Settings"and try changing your Port (COM#) 'FLOW CONTROL' to "HARDWARE", and at the same time make sure the speed is set to 115200 Baud (i think the default port setting in windows XP is only 9600)

Try that, bet it works, MAKE SURE YOU ONLY FLASH ONE FILE AT A TIME! (firmware then the default language file) follow the instructions!

UK Vodafone S700i
Flashed to
Firmware File: S700_R3G001_ZONE_2_HONGKONG.S7S
Language File: S700_R3G001_HONGKONG.S7D

Using Total MultiServer 1.45
T68i Serial Cable
Windows XP SP2 -

All Vodafone branding is gone.

Note: Vodafone firmware is R3C001 and cant flash down to R3B032, you need to upgrade firmware NOT down grade.
