Hello all,

I've just got myself a Motorola V3 and when I connect my Bluetooth headset (Sony Ericsson HBH-65) and I receive a call, the ringtone changes to the 'Continental' tone. I've checked in the 'Ring Styles' details and the ringtone does not appear to have changed.

Any ideas how to solve this?

AFAIK no. It's a common problem with all Vxxx/V3 phones.

I'm afraid that you're stuck with continental. It seems really stupid to do that - but i've had a V600 for awhile and through all the software upgrades, there really hasn't been a change to alter the ringtones when you've got a bluetooth headset connected. I guess it doesn't seem like their big list of priorities...

are you sure its just not chaingng the ring style when you connect the headset, i know thats what happens on a lot of V500s and V600 and my V80 aswell!

try that if i were you!

Thanks for the replies. Yes I've treied changing the ringtone when the headset is attached so it does seem likely to be a common fault.

what happens if you delete the continental ringtone from the phone?

perhaps a workaround would be to overwrite the ringtone file with another one, but keeping the same filename.

No, the continental tone is preset and hence cannot be deleted. I actually contacted Motorolla yesterday and they said that it is not a bug but a standard feature in most of their models. They also said that they will contact the development team with a request for the review of this matter.
