compose any sms like this:
BEGIN:IMELODY
VERSION:1.2
FORMAT:CLASS1.0
NAME:Move-A-Phone v1.0
BEAT:200
STYLE:S1
Melody:(vibeonr5vibeoff@100)*0c3*0c3(ledonr3ledoff@10)*0e3*0e3(vibeonr1vibeoff@30)(vibeonr5vibeoff@100)
END:IMELODY
send it to yourself, you'll get a melody in your My Melody, not a sms in your SMS Inbox

Yeah i found that you could do that a couple of weeks ago, but when the melody was accepted by the phone it wouldnt play. Also if you have a imelody that you cant open, to edit, you can send it to a nokia, for example, edit the sms recieved by the nokia and send it back to the T68i :-)

Great idea. However after trying four times with different tunes once they arrive in My Melody they dont play a note.
What am I doing wrong or is this a wind up ?

i just tried it and nothign happen...when you guys say it goes to my melody, do you mean my sounds? I haven't seen any folders in my t68i name my melody, but i do have one named my sounds. I would really like to try this out because my service provider doesn't have WAP. also, do i imput this format exactly as it is in the screen (space by space, capital letter and so forth) because i couldn't fit it in one sms so i had to enable long sms...what am i doing wrong...why didn't it even reach my sounds folder. I typed it exaclty as it is in the screen..
help,

call me stupid but would someone please tell me what the "sms melody" is? like the one emxinh made at the beginning of this.
is it done on the computer with a special software? or is it really just done with the sms composer on the sony ericsson phone? if yes, how? |

Writing an IMELODY on a PC is easy, just use Notepad to create and edit the file. then use the "Send a file" option in a program like Sony Ericsson's "MyPictures" (providing you have a cable, infrared or Bluetooth connection between the PC and your phone) and send the file to your phone. The file will appear under "My sounds" in your phone.
You can also find loads of IMELODY files on the web if you search.
Or use the composer on your phone (which is a bit of a pain as I can't get it to play sections of my composition, it always plays the whole thing), any saved compositions will appear in "My sounds" and you can send these via SMS - either to your own phone or to someone else a thousand miles away.
