My contract ran out months ago, and after tryin out the orange branded k700 (and hating it), i still think my t610 kicks ass!! Other than a faulty mic, this phone has been good to me..and i see no point in replacing it- until SE release the next generation P-series.

I never had one. I went stragiht from my T39m over to my new Z1010 a few weeks ago. (Except a few months with a borrowed P800.)
Why get a new phone just for cosmetic changes? Apart from the cameras i dont see a many big changes in cell phones from the T39 until recent 3G phones.
Maybe if i was a girl i would also have switched phones to get the latest trendy colours. But then i would likely have been using a Nokia handset instead since they have always been more about designs and coloured X-press-on covers than about functionality and features.
Cheers

Lately I've seen more T610's than ever, so I think it's back in business.

Lot's of "usual" people still use their grayscale phones like Ericsson GA 628, A1018s, T10s, T18s, R320s and others. Here in Esato it may feel strange to hear that, but in real life it's normal
