hmmm seems like vodafone and orange are now doing 18 months contract as well as the standard 12 month contract, do you think that the 18 month contract will be standard in future or not as like all operators seem to brand their phones now ie orange.vodafone although o2 only does a slight change.

You are very lucky with 12 or 18 months contract. We have 24 months contract.

we have 12 and 24 months.

Personally I'm no fan of contracts longer than 12 months. reason for this is I once took out a 24 month contract with T Mobile and it turned out to be the mistake of a lifetime. And in such a case... 12 months is more than enough!

I think 18 months is ridiculous, 12 months is too long in my opinion.

i think 12 months is just about right. Allows the customer to get phones for next to nothing in most cases and gives opperators plenty of time to recouperate (if thats how you spell it!) the money they put towards subsudusing the phone cost! However these 18 month contracts are springing up everywhere and i have a bad felling that opperators are going to try and push for them to become the norm. Which is not good for people like me who are uaualy already dessperate to upgrade after 6 months! i guess only time will tell!
