what does the sonyericsson chat pen do?

can you use it to take pictures and send them to phones ie p800 or t68m/i

The chatpen is not a camera, so it won't take pictures. It's a pen.. you write with the pen on special papers that come with the pen, and then the text can be sent to your phone, or a Bluetooth-enabled device (lika a computer with Bluetooth adapter) or directly sent as SMS or MMS depending on your operator.

It's a cool gadget, but not so useful to me.

The chatpen is actually out right now, if you live in Sweden and have a Vodafone contract is it possible to get one. I don’t know anything about the price you have to pay for the chatpen and each message you send with it.
You can visit Anotos web page ( www.anotofunctionality.com ), they have developed the chatpen.
By the way, there is actually a camera inside the pen but it is only used to capture the letters and numbers written on the special made papers.

Of course, you ago always draw a small picture with the pen and then send that off as an attached image in an email. Could be useful for drawing map to friends etc.
