Hi all, I bought a bluetooth dongle, installed it etc, and can send files back and forth with it to the laptop and from laptop to phone.

I cannot however remote control the laptop thru my fone,, i dont know how to do it. Do i need a special program?

Also when i try to connect to the net thru my phones modem, it comes up with a username and password and number i need to connect to, all of which i dont have... so im stuck there.

I really need help with this lol

Thanks in advance

Chris

don't know much about remote control but for dialling internet...

do you want to use GPRS or dial-up to your ISP telephone number?

ok well the username and password can be left blank and in the dialling number you put

*99***n# where n is the CID of the data account that you want to use as its defined in the phone.

In the K700 they seem to have removed CID so basically you go to connectivity, data comm. data accounts, and determine the position in the list of the data account you want to use. so the first data account is 1, the second 2 etc. The position gives you your CID for putting into the above dialling number

in general you need a full internet GPRS data account to do this as a WAP GPRS data account won't do, although some people have had some success using an O2 WAP data account for internet access from their pc and there is a couple of threads about that if you are on O2

unfortunately neither will do.

since you are on vodafone I can tell you the account you need.

go to connectivity, data comm., data accounts and click new account
choose GPRS data
type internet for the name
then in APN type internet
leave the other two fields blank and choose save

this will be your vodafone internet account so note its position in the data accounts list for use in your dialling string

I suspect you will get something like "invalid parameters" or similar if you try using it right away and if so this will mean you will need to call vodafone and get them to activate your internet GPRS facility and they'll put you on an data package too probably

Remote: Set up your computer to let the k700 use HID profiles (if supported) and install it! it should say start remote control? hit yes and bingo!
