At the end of my tether! Can't get new CD-RW to work |

I know it's not exactly mobile phone related, but I'm getting desperate now. I've just bought a new Lite-on LTR-16102b CD-RW drive, and I cant get it to work properly! It didn't come with any drivers, and I suspect this is the problem.
Can anyone tell me where I can get the drivers for this damned thing? I've been searching all afternoon and not found a thing except a load of firmware updates but no bloody drivers!
Anyone either got a driver for this, or know where I can get one? I'm running Windows 2000, and the drive is currently set up as a 'slave' unit to the original CD drive, but the drive isn't even recognised by windows if I unplug the cd drive and just have the CD-RW plugged in!

oh.. i got the same thing as well!
and it works like a charm on windows xp..
just make sure u have the master/slave jumper settings on the back of the drive placed properly.
check power cable.
hmm... then press delete before computer starts booting..
go to advanced settings and check if bios detects the drive.
i got 2 cds with the box, for nero and power dvd.
but i don't think it needs a dedicated driver, its xp compatible.
hope it helps

XP most likely has a driver or generic driver for it, while 2000 has not. You could send him the driver and see if that would work for him.

Thanks for your help Plasma and residentevil! I've got it working now, tried the jumper settings, and also tried some decent cd-burning software which has recognised the cd-rw, so now it's working!
It was mostly me being a bit dumb as usual and thinking I knew what I was doing

I might get Nero a try when I have a bit more money (and stop spending it on phones!)
