I'm interested to hear opinions on the use of non OEM replacement batteries.

Hi capacity Li-on cells are readily available and often cheaper than original ones, and as expected, all of the OEM's advise against their use.
I can understand their opinion as they obviously lose out on a sale, but I can't totally understand how they can be deemed unsafe... as they generally quote.

The phone only looks for the same voltage input and draws current as and when needed. I can only think that using them might put a strain on the charger, but I don't know whether this is actually dangerous ??

Are they honestly unsafe or simply poor products ? and if so what are the risks involved ?

Cheers, Grammo.
