Ok, excuse my bad english,
but I have observed this photo, and as far as I can see are there two things that seems protecting the lens, or that can be activated to protect the lens,
1,: Do you see that small black thing at the right it seems that you can push it or move it, maybe a plastic thing will move before the lens,
2,: check the lens, there is kind of a buttond under the lens, like you have by kodak, I think that you are able to move it to the right or left and therefore you can active a protection cover,
what do you think? wrong or right ericsson has no answers

I think the one on the left of the lense probably moves a cover over it, the one below the lense, I think is to take the battery cover off. Anyone else? |

But where's the battery. It seems that battery and phone border split the lens??
Yeah.. I think so too about that black button. I think that lens-protection is so obvious and natural that just didn't think that they needed to mention that on their P800 page.

The lens is set back into the phone so it protects against scrathing when you put your phone down onto the table. |

guys how about the language on the p800, for example most gsm's have an option to select your device language, but the 9210 didn't have that option. How will it be with the p800? I am gonna buy it in the Netherlands, but i prefer english as the device language... so will it be changeable? |

As i remeber from cebit, said that it'll have a huge selection of languages, but you can delete the languages that you do not want in order to free space.

Will it be possible to add effects to the pictures like with the MCA25?
Another big question is: how much will this phone cost?

JUst came back from CommunicAsia where I had a good look at the p800 and talked to one of the swedish guys demonstrating it...
some interesting news ..
#1 Lens cover: there isn't one. That little black thing on the back is not a switch for a cover, I asked. I was told that the lens is not flush with the phone body, but sunken in, which will give it some protection from stratches. However if you carry the phone in your pocket with keys, it could damage it. The p800 will come with a carry case.
#2 Memory stick .. yes its supported, with no limitation on the size (was told a 1GB memory stick was very close to being released!) supported by the phone, if its a memory stick the phone can use it. One cool feature is the docking station, which is connected to the phone via USB 1.1 The phone shows up as an external hard disk, you just drag and drop your files to it, and the phone sorts them out. If the file is a vCard, it goes into the phonebook, if its a video it goes to the onboard RAM or Stick.
#3 Supports MP4 Video, as well as AAC audio!! Meaning you can have mp3's or the newer mp4 audio format (basically AAC .. see quicktime 6) which is supposed to have better sound quality at half the size of an mp3. Can you imagine a memory stick full of mp4's?? Cool.
#4 Sound quality is stunning. Had it linked to an amp via the headphone out socket. Video quality is damn good!
#5 Colors ... the phone software/apps only support 12-bit color, but the LCD supports 16-bit. I was told it was going to be possible to write a 3rd party application which could use and display 16-bit color.
#6 What comes in the box? The p800, carrying pouch, 16MB memory stick and the docking station
I am telling you ... this phone ROCKS!!! |
