@lea123 - Glad to have you here at Esato ! Hmmm . . . that would be just nice- a FREE meal on your birthday . . . Kinda strange though, as nothing really comes for FREE nowadays? As I've seen it, it's only some - 'sampler' . . . |

There's no such thing as a free lunch - if something's too good to be true, it probably is!
Edit: @ayush, you just beat me to it!

Jack Daniel's always sends me a card on my birthday and a calendar for the new year as well as bits through out the year (JD coasters, picture postcards etc.).

Grouchy? And here I was thinking it was Groucho all these years
Don't be so touchy ayush I'm sure he didn't mean that in a bad way at all
As for b-day gifts... there are actually lots of companies that are more than happy to do birthday special gifts....... anything to make you think of them first when you need services they offer
I know we do birthday attentions, wedding or anniversary attentions, you name it
It's a perfectly normal thing to do

Then again, as a student nurse, I see all the freebies that drugs representatives give away - some of it beggars belief!
Pens, coasters, notepads/post its, stethoscopes, clocks, thermometers, BP machines, USB pen drives, wall clocks, the list goes on. And not cheap stuff either - some of it's top quality stuff!
Then there's the gifts that doctors get - things like free weekend breaks!! Flights, expensive corporate days out etc - surely all the freebies these companies give out is on dodgy ground?

Well every freebie is obviously given with the underlying goal of one day generating revenue for the giving company
That doesn't matter though
They're free and free of obligations normally

I remember getting me 2 boxes of Dominos Pizza - Special, as one of their branches opens near our place, about a month hence . . . All I did is fill up a survey form! No strings attached after having eaten and digested them all . . . up till now !
