I've recently bought a data cable for a SE T610 and it won't connect with my PC. I've read this thread and even this post but it still won't connect.

My problem seems to be that instead of detecting the cable as "Prolific USB-to-serial" it's reading it as "usb data cable" and not recognizing it as prolific-compatible. At least that's my guess.

Anyone got any thoughts on this matter, please?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If that is your concern, you can hack the profilic driver, the .inf file, to recognize your cable. Just substitute the string " USBVID_067B&PID_2303 " with a similar string copied from your data cable's driver. There should be 2 locations within the file you have to do that.

However I don't think that is your problem.
