I've read this thread and even this post but it still won't connect. My problem seems to be that instead of detecting the cable as "Prolific USB-to-serial" it's reading it as "usb data cable" and not recognizing it as prolific-compatible. At least that's my guess. Anyone got any thoughts on this matter, please? Any help is greatly appreciated. Just substitute the string " USBVID_067B&PID_2303 " with a similar string copied from your data cable's driver. There should be 2 locations within the file you have to do that.
