Virus via text message or a prank? |

Today morning i and couple of my friends received a wierd message saying that our phones are being \"jacked\". Later i got a second message which had some personal info about me, the info was stored in my phone. Can anyone explain whats happening here?

He uses 230 , so its not blue jacking and i belive he received texts . I think something to do with the the network

He probably was bluejacked as the message was posted from a T610, not a T230.

Guys. The text message came on the T230. And the first post i made was using a T610. Since the message came on the the T230, There's no question of bluejacking here!

it could be one of your mates messing with you. theres websites you can send that sort of text from. Dont worry you wont have a virus though.

Actually a virus on a phone would be possible, anything with storable memory is exposed to be infected |

No way you could get it via SMS though...unless somehow your service provider was infected, and that's assuming there's some way the SMS transmission could carry a virus...very doubtful. It was probably someone you know. Keep us posted if you find out what it was! |

The first mobile virus (only transmitted via Bluetooth) was announced recently. You don't have a virus - just a prank or spam.

One of my friends can't access the service menu of his T230 after reading this sms. Whenever he tries to delete the sms it won't let him do it and the phone restarts! It must be a bug in the phone sw, but this happened after the anonymous message arrived!
