The news about the duo stick for the P800 is what weve all been waiting for but it now raises a couple more questions that maybe some of you guys who hinted about this upcoming news can answer?

1)did SE know all along they would be adding memory stick but didnt put on the CeBit versions etc as they werent ready to unviel the new duo format?

2)if this is correct the september release that is being quoted here in the UK wont be effected, but if not,ie it was an afterthought when are we likely to now see a release?surely this would set it back to about christmas?

3)finally price?ive seen quotes of $500 US etc which as much as i would like seem far too low, here in the UK CPW etc are quoting between £350-400 with connection.anyone here got more solid info?someone who works for/with SE maybe?

thanks guys............

The release should still be Q3,..no differences here.
I spoke to SE on the bluetooth-show in Amsterdam this friday,..and the P-800 was there too

Sonyericssons vice president spoke at the show about the importance of the memorystick-functionality,..that does more than suggest, that they knew they were gonna put this option in the P-800.
As You say yourself, they might have had to work on the Duo-format before announcing it to the public.

i cant wait to see one in the flesh now!this news has revitalised my interest in the product, ive been looking into buying a pda-come-phone for ages now and was put off the otherwise perfect P800 by the lack of expandable memory

ive had a new O2 XDA(also known as WALLABY/JOEY) for the last 5 days or so and thats an amazing piece of kit,im going to hold out to see the P800 before making a purchase now, hopefully the P800 will be cheaper as well!(the XDA starts at £500 here in the UK)

well, the xda has a very bad reputation concerning the standby time, because of the platform it uses it consumes much more memory and Battery... and it might sound stupid, but i had a feeling that i wouldn't be satisfied with it, i had hope that the p800 would be available very soon... A shop-owner i know, has agreed with SE to sell the first 40 P800's in holland... so hopefully i do not have to wait that long anymore... by the way check the following link http://a9.g.akamai.net/7/9/5671/v101/ericssonmo1.download.akamai.com/5761/p800.zip there is a great flash movie about P800 especially the part with Men In Black ROCKS big time!

i think the P800 will have a much better quality/price ratio, and also the XDA not being Tri-Band prevented me from buying it... in GBP everything looks cheap
