It used to really peeve me off that unlike my T68, my K700 doesn't retain the GPRS connection when I quit browsing. Problem is, in Australia you get charged everytime you make a GPRS connection, which can get expensive.
I've got a little trick that will force the GPRS to retain the connection.
1. Go to Standby
2. Press the On-Line button. You will see "Connecting..."
3. As soon as you see the World icon, and the "Loading..." screen quickly press "Cancel"
4. Now press the On-Line button as quick as possible
5. Your homepage should load
Remember, timing is everything. After a few goes, you'll perfect it.
Now, when you exit the browser, the connection always stays on (if you dont switch your phone off) |

If you just want GPRS to be active all the time, why don't you just go to "Connectivity>Data comm.>Preferred Service" then select "GPRS and GSM"
resistance is futile. |

Or, set your email up to use your gprs account and download headers only. Send yourself an email, now check mail. It'll download the header, open it and it connects again. Now when you exit the email client it asks if you wanna disconnect. Press no, done :-) works on Z600(flip closed as well) and others.

I haven't tried this trick yet on a T6x0. I'll give it a go on my T610 later tonite. I can verify it works on my K700 R2L.

Yep, just tested the up arrow. Works for me too. No writing required. :-)

@boss it was your idea, i just 'developed' it. Anyway, its weird that 'normally' no chance to to go to menu as it was possible once. Think it works in k7 aswell.
