yeah java is the lowest on my list of desired upgrades...
i'd like to see polyphonic ring tones and more colors on the display first
then again, the more colors probably the less battery life >.< |

eram is right, the T68 battery life would go to hell with a 4096-color screen. The 4096-color screen phones all have bigger batteries than the T68. The only way I can imagine retaining the form factor in such a phone would be to implement prismatic silver-zinc (PSZ) battery cell technology, which is at least a year away from market.
Also, adding the j2me runtime module would almost eat up the memory in the T68, leaving very little to download any cool games, etc...
Not sure about what ployphonic ringtones would add to the size. Probably not much if anything.
In a nutshell, it isn't likely...

2-3 weeks ago a Dutch newspaper stated that /// would stop the funding of SE when SE wouldn't be profitable before the end of 2002. Image what happens then... SE would become S. And /// would only develop, sell and implement network elements.

i have read some where that Ericsson are not happy that thay invested large amouts of money, and not made it back, they are thinking about not investing more cash untill they see they going to make any money out of se
also read this about java
"For gamers, Sony Ericsson will launch the Z700, which like the P800 will run downloadable Java games; it will come pre-loaded with Men in Black and Charlie's Angels games. This phone will have a colour screen, support Bluetooth, GPRS, dual band GSM, and polyphonic ringtones. "

Actually Ericsson hasn't made any phones for a while now. They have a deal with Flextronics for the manufacturing. So the only thing Ericsson mades today is the network elements. |
