We've got a Champions League thread, but seeing as my team got knocked out in the qualifiers, and are now slumming it in the UEFA cup, i thought we should have one for the European "First Division".

score 1-1 on aggregate, Rangers win 4-2 on Penalties

We shoulda nailed them 4 or 5 nil! All over them like a rash, we had a goal wrongly chalked off for offside, hit the woodwork twice, their keeper made a string of fantastic saves, and they were lucky not to be down to 10 men after Leo Lima elbowed Zurab Khizanishvili off the ball. Damn im happy. Hopefully this can be the springboard for Rangers after a poor start to the season. Hats off to Stefan Klos in goal, penalty saving KING! And Gregory Vignal showed real guts to step up and slot away the winner. Great performances all round!

My Benfica made through, but it was an easy call.
Although, i thought that Marítimo could've made it. It was not a one sided game as you suggest, Marítimo could've scored too. I was watching the game as you were.
Anyway, good luck to the Rangers (until he gets Benfica on the way  )

They did have chances, but you have to admit Rangers did dominate. Scottish football is better than Portugese? Rangers knocked out Maritimo, Hearts knocked out Braga

Of course they did dominate. Like Maritimo dominated when they played @ home.

In fairness over the 2 legs, they were very evenly matched. Next year we will be in the champions league so i doubt it
