T39 r4a008 bugs |

I had my t39's software upgraded from r2k to r4a008 about a couple of weeks ago......and i feel i'm much worse off..........when i was with r2k texting was slow, and occasionally reboots when im wapping (which is quite tolerable).......when i switched to r4aoo8, there was less rebooting when im using wap, and texting was somewhat faster..........but there was problem with text size, the phone book and wap menus doesn't change font size no matter which settings you choose.......sometimes while going through the menus font size would switch from large medium and small, and worst, the screen is a mess (distorted and jumbled up) when i'm talking with someone on the phone, but returns to normal when i close the flip or press any button......any guys out there with the same problem? would a reflash cure the problem? is sony ericsson coming up with r5 upgrade soon? how could you sonyericsson guys miss a big a problem like this?

Hi. There's an existing discusssion thread R48008 FW upgrade on T39 on.
I haven't had problems with font inconsitency, or garbled messages. Actually, it's the first time i heard about such problems on this FW. My problem with this FW is unstable GPRS, connection keeps on disconnecting especially on continuous data streams.
Maybe you can visit the mentioned thread and see what the rest think about R4A008. |

I have had similar problems on my T39 (upgraded from R2K to R4A008). After using GSM data extensively, the screen became garbled and I had to reset the phone (on/off).
I have not been able to recreate it since. |

Hi guys...I face got the same problem too...but the distorted screen happened way before I upgrade my sw to r4a008. When I upgraded my sw to r3b006 and r4a008 a new problem occurs...the phone kept resetting by itself...guess this is "normal" to T39 user..as I've read through the discussion forum.... |

@stelvio - i actually have the same problems with the lcd's garbled images, particularly when i am using gprs. Not usual but still happens. On text size, it should have been corrected with this fw version as it was in mine. Text speed and rebooting was indeed minimized. Guess we have to see if a newer fw can cure the lcd problem. Take it back to the servicepoint if it really bothers you.
