K700 bluetooth headset will pair but not connect problem |

I wonder if anyone has experienced the same troubles as I have been having, or knows a way to fix it?
I've had my K700 for a couple of months. I bought an iTech bluetooth clip headset with it which worked fine for about a week, and then stopped working, i.e. it would not beep when a call came in, nor pick up the call. This was tested with another phone and didn't work there either.
I took the headset back to the shop and changed it for another one, which worked fine for a while with my phone, and then stopped again. There was no communication with the phone other than being able to pair the two. As soon as you try to connect, it pops up with the 'handsfree profile' message, then sits on the 'Connecting....' screen until you turn either the phone or the headset off. This headset works fine with other phones.
A third headset was tried, the Plantronics 3000, which didn't work on my phone but works fine on other phones.
Back to the shop I went, and tried a Motorola headset which did connect.
Then I discovered this site, and the online update possibilities of the K700 which promised to fix many bluetooth problems. I bought a DSS-25, did the update and now have R2L001 firmware.
However, I still have the same problems with my headset. I tried a Jabra 250 this morning back at the shop and it didn't even pair to the phone - it just kept saying 'connection failed'. I have tried resetting my phone which has not helped either.
I have a phone number to call Sony Ericsson.... is this my last resort or is there anything else I can try?
Thanks! |

Well it does sound as if it is your K700 that is at fault and you do seem to have tried everyhting that conventional wisdom would suggest to fix this problem i.e. what most members of Esato would tell you.
I would suggest that you try to get your phone exchnaged under warranty.

It seems to be a firmware problem and I hope that they fix it with the next update. I have had problems with my BT250 that I never had on my Z600. It will pair, but sometimes when I disconnect and try to reconnect the headseat it says connection fail and I have to reset the headset and re-pair. |

Thanks to those who replied. I have now received my phone back from the repair centre and it seems to be working again - will update this if the situation changes! The repair centre was the one in Banbury, Oxfordshire - they quoted 7-10 working days to fix the phone, but I had it back within 5 working days which was not bad at all. |
