yes it is. cause it support bluetooth, you can use it without your phone, it runs on a separet battery.
there a guide on my site how to get the 10hours of battery life on the HBM-30 only with the guide you'll know how.

HBM-30 only supports Memory Stick Duo which goes up to a max 128MB. HPM-10 supports just about any MMC size - I'm using 256MB in mine - but it's limited to reading 96 tracks so there's no point in putting anything on above 96 tracks - so for eg a 1GB MMC wouldn't be much use unless it had really long tracks.
The HPM-10 runs off the phone's battery and doesn't use much power. The HBM-30 needs a separate AAA size battery and uses the power up very rapidly. Someone (see above) said you can use re-chargeables in a certain way to get longer time. I got about 2 hours max using a duracell high power.
The HPM-10 has in-ear headphones which are pretty good quality. The HBM-30 headphones clip over the ear and I found them very uncomfortable but I think it uses a standard headphone jack (check this out though, I'm not sure) so you can use other headphones as the mic's built into the player, whereas the HPM-10 mic is on the headphone cord. |

I can confirm the hbm-30 use's a standard headphone jack so any headphones can be used.
