i heard it from esato, that you can access to the internet for free, but why is o2 doing this for free? there must be a catch, or isnt there? i have used up 10mbs already via o2 gprs downloading short video clips and my balance have not changed, is this temporarilly? is it till a certain limit in mbs? because what it is that i have spoken to o2 customer services that for knew o2 pay n go is free for 3000mins for 1st month and then after i would have to pay for it, but then again he sounded like he didnt no what he was chatting about, and even if he was right what can stop me from buying another o2 pay n go sim everymonth so just i can use free internet via my laptop?. can anyone put some light on this please? and tell me please how long have you been using your o2 pay n go sim card to make free internet service via your pc? many thanks

There's no catch. They keep saying they're going to start charging but they never do. I haven't paid a penny in 8 months and I've downloaded over 25mb of data.

Same here. I think they said they were going to start charging in June, but they still don't seem to be. Not that I'm complaining, of course!

They do seem to be rather disorganised though, I've often had my bill late, and my girlfriend who's on O2 has had problems too.

i see now, but the funny thing is, when a phone company does a great offer like example the o2 customer care guy told me that 3000 min for 1st month for knew customer, for somethink like that i am sure they wouldnt keep so quiet about it should they, i mean i though they would of advertised it alot and on t.v. and saying: COME AND JOIN O2 FOR YOUR CHANCE 3000 MINS FOR FREE ON THE INTERNET or somethink like that, so maybe it will stay free because it is kept so quiet about this, i only heard about this because i come on esato almost every knight lol , well if they start charging in the future they will sure loose me as a loyal customer.

I've been using it for almost a year now. Just racked up a gigabyte of recieved data on my t68i data counter. All free :-D had a few hundred mb on my t300 before that too. Out using the z600 as a modem though, it seems to randomly disconnect. There's a line in a bolt on t+c that may point to charges starting in november though.

Iv'e never been charged in 2 years.
The first year o2 launched GPRS i had a t68i. There was free MMS and GPRS that i thought would only last for a short while. How wrong was i?
Last year i came off contract to a sim free t610 and pay & go o2 sim. I ported my number over and they sent the settings for pay & go. I still haven't been charged for either yet.

I put it down to swapping the settings over from contract to pay & go, but everyone seems to enjoy this "freebie". If i am low on credit, they text me to tell me i cant send the MMS, but you just retry and it sends.

Thanks for the freebie, o2!

(K700i next month sim free)

I have been charged for the last two months for my GPRS usage. I got an email saying that this would be the case around July time.

yep, i am being charged on both contract and PAYG sim, though i havn't tried my PAYG sim on k700, so maybe that will be free using the proxy settings, but i doubt it.
