When i first saw it yesterday i thought it actually looked quite nice. But 24 hours later it dawned on me that it looks just like one me those cheap ass alba(or any other budget make) slimline dvd players.

Having never owned a games console (as an 'adult') would a this PS2 also make a good DVD player for the bedroom?

@twista you can buy the region x disc for the ps2 which allows you to play dvds from any region. This should allow you to watch imported films. you can get it from amazon for £9.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/[....]Q7/pd_ka_0/202-4210947-7293465

I believe this one has an ir reciever built in. Not sure if a remote is included though. Mince inside, i really would suggest you get an Xbox instead. Sure you need to buy the remote kit to play dvd's, you'll never need to buy a memory card ever since the Xbox has a built in 8gb hd. And the dvd play back is also superior. Plus there's the fact you can copy your cd collection to the Xbox too, which you can hook up to your hifi.

Cheers @bosshogg, does the Xbox have any wireless features?
Can it be pulled to bits and 'tinkered with'? (bigger hdd)
PS were you into the Duke's of Hazzard?

I think there's a wireless router or something? I don't have bb so don't know much. You asked the right question there. Once chipped you can get a slayers or exusers unleashx auto install disc and put a bigger hd in. I've got a 120 in mine :-D you can copy full games to it which almost halves loading times. You also have emulators from a2600 to ps1, region, remote and macrovision free dvd playback. Countless apps inc Xbox media centre for pretty much any media, just like the windows version.
