Looking to buy either an E800, SL65 or S700. What are peoples opinions on these phones ? |

In the next couple of days I'm looking to buy another phone to replace my K700i. The three phones I'm thinking of are a Samsung E800, Siemens SL65 or a S700. The phone would be bought sim free.
What are peoples opinions of these 3 phones ?
Any advice/feedback on them would be grateful
A friend bought an E800 and it does look nice and easy to use but I heard that you cant transfer pictures/photos to/from it.
I owned a SL55 for 6 months last year and again was a nice phone. It was just a little slow. The camera attachment was really good as it had a proper flash. The SL65 is the upgrade to the Sl55 from what I've read.
The S700 looks like it could be a hit or miss phone for The things that may put me off is the possible high price and the current amount of faults/bugs that occur in new handsets.
I want to find out other peoples views on these phones before I make a decision on which to buy.

@staz081277 - Does the Siemens SX-1 ever entered your mind mate? I am contemplating on replacing my K700i with it - maybe . . . Of your top choices - I'll definitely go for the SE S700! Good Luck pal ! |

Its a nice looking phone. But its been out for a while now and still priced at £249.99 for sim free on Siemens website. It does have mp3 + video capabilities though. But can mp3 be used as ringtones ?

@staz081277 - See I told you . . . I have a potential swapper from Manila (@usong725) for my K700i for his SX-1 with 64 Mb mmc, it's like a Nokia 6600/6230 that's why - though, 'have to try different brand now, it's always a Nokia and SE for me . . . |

it does'nt say that it takes media cards on the spec in Siemens website.
Just had a reply from the seller. He says that it does take media cards up to 1gb
Gotta buy it just to see what its like.

IMO The new Siemens *65 series are "gutter balls" plagued with dodgy fw, menu icons drawn by a child, or renegade from the KDE developer team. Maybe 3 months from now they will have matured into being worth the price (which will probably be right by then too)
SX1: If you can learn to live with the keypad from hell that can't be managed with one hand, by all means go for it! I would rather choose 6600..
Personally i'd keep K700 and/or take a serious look at the S700 when it's been out for a month or two.
Just my 2 cents..
Cheers!

@staz081277 - Yup! The keypad is just one of it's setbacks mate! Give me some feedbacks if it's worth having dude! Make a point-to-point comparison with that of our SE K700/i . . . OK? Thanks! |

Wont be having that SX-1 off ebay. The one I saw the seller said he bought it 7 weeks ago and it had no marks/scratches whatsoever. I checked his feedback and also the last 20 items he bought/sold and guess what his last purchase was. The description that the person he bought the SX-1 from says the phone is 9 months old and is marked. The seller (who he bought the phone from) also shows close up's of the marks and the phone was sold for £78. This person is trying to sell me the exact same phone for £198.90+£10p&p.
Think I'l be going to the Carphone Warehouse when in the morning.

@staz081277 - So, in effect he's 'overpricing' you is that it? Good Luck though mate, as I am really eager to see some reviews 'bout that fone, if I will be trading mine (K700i to SX-1) as well! Good Luck! |

Hes overpricing and also giving a false description. He says the phone is scratch/dent/mark free but on the listing he bought it from it shows that there are small scratches/dents on the phone. Also after a closer look at his pictures you can just about see the marks. Hes taken the pictures so its hard to see them.
Will see what offers Carphone Warehouse have on when I go there tomorrow.
