p910 or PDA Help |

Ok guys I need your help, I'm not a pda user as yet so my knowledge is a bit vague on these things. I had a P800 which kinda worked like a PDA, but then I just never bothered. So I need to get some organisation into my life, and at the same time entertainment. So what I need is as follows.
I need a drop dead georgous PDA or P910.
I need it to have expandable memory as well as be pretty fast to handle watching movies on the go.
Good sound system.
BT and Wifi a bonus.
I like slim and light stuff as I hate luggin around to much stuff.
and finally I guess I need it to have a decent camera.(not a real need but a real bonus)
Ok so I know a bit about the P910 and also read abit about it, but I am seriously in the dark with the PDA market.
Oh and a quick response would be good as I have a pretty tough decesion to make.
Price is not so much an issue but an issue if you know what I mean.... |

well, I can tell you about iPAQs
I'm currently using an iPAQ 4150 which is quite a small little beauty but fully featured with a great 3.5" screen. This has no camera, comes with 64mb ram and an SD slot and the usual pocket word, excel and internet explorer. the operating system is windows mobile 2003 and this has a 400mhz processor
I'm about to exchange that for the new hx4700 which has a 4" screen with full VGA screen and uses the latest windows mobile 2003 second edition which also provides landscape mode natively but again has no camera but is quite snappy with a 623mhz processor. This has an SD slot and a compact flash slot (I already have a 1gb SD and 2gb CF ready to go when this arrives in the next week or two) so loads of capacity there
lastly, if you want a 1.3 megapixel camera you could look at the new rx3710. this one just has the sd slot and a 3.5" screen but does have the windows mobile 2003 second edition

@Masseur do any of the 3 have BT/Wifi. Because I am always on the move and I hate carrying my powerbook for simple browsing in airports and stuff. and I am guessing you have a P910 how is that treating you compaired to your Ipaq etc..just a brief breakdown will be cool

Hi themarques!
I use a Tungtsen T3 paied with k700i and surf the net, check e-mails, etc etc. Watching videos is alsl possible. I can even send and receive my e-mails in Japanese! Important for me.
Lots of speculation about the new Tunsten T5 coming soon. Like does it have Wi-Fi or not.
I also heard that the Treo 650 is on the way...
I always found the people at Brighthand helpful -

I not given you much concrete info... but maybe some ideas..

@ofiaich ????
Haha! Did I write something bad...?
OK! Seen your full post now! Just saw '@ofiaich ????' a little while ago.
PalmOne has released a Wi-Fi card. I don't know much about Wi-Fi and what it does and doesn't do. I heard you can sit in Airprort lounges and Starbucks and use the internet! I must learn about it!

Ok I see that yo can have voIP with SkyPe so that has kinda swayed me more to getting one of these little beauties.. Has anyone installed the skype software?
and if so whats the voice quality etc...would you think of using that as a cheaper alternative whilst overseas to make calls with WiFi? |

Check out www.tekguru.co.uk Very useful PDA site. I have an O2 XDA II in addition to my baby (p900) But if you can wait till Nov/Dec then consider buying the new XDA IV (called XDA ii's- don't ask why! ) These will have Windows 2003 SE and Wifi built in. |

I think O2 XDA II Mini (a.k.a. i-Mate Jam?) will accomodate your need... or wait for XDA Atom...
It's smaller than P910 or other PDA's...
