I've got an IPAQ 2210 and K700i (Vodafone R1A) that I've managed to setup so that I can uses the K700 as a bluetooth GPRS modem from the IPAQ. When I diconnect the connection from the IPAQ using the disconnect button in the connection bubble it reboots the phone.
I can use and disconnect the phone from an XP machine without crashing the phone.
I've found other people with similar problems but can't seem to find a solution. Any help would be much appreciated as SE and Vodafone have been useless.
Thanks |

This is a problem I experienced in the original K700 firmware but it is fixed in the latest firmware (R2L for non branded and R2N for vodafone - or possibly R2V which I have heard about here)
while the K700 firmware upgrade fixes this problem it also introduces another whereby you need to insert a Z into the iPAQ initialise string otherwise it will no longer dial out!
you can read about that last item in the K700 Firmwares overview

Thanks for the info.
Can anybody give a definitive answer as to whether I can update my Vodafone K700i via the online update service as I can probably get my hands on a SyncStation otherwise I'll have to get myself to a Service Centre. |

R2AY004 solved all my problems. I bought an unlocked K700i with firmware R2AE033 about 5 weeks ago. Whenever I connected my Palm Zire 72 or Tungsten T5 to the Internet via bluetooth on my K700i, the phone would freeze after I would disconnect the bluetooth on my PDAs. I also had a hissing sound sometimes on phone calls. I sent the phone to the Sony Ericsson Service center for repair in North Carolina (USA) one day after I received my K700i from BestPriceAudioVideo.com (online retailer). I got the K700i back a week later stating that "my problem could not be duplicated" but a "firmware upgrade was given" (for free). Since then, the phone has worked like a charm in every respect. And I use all aspects of this phone.
The K700i is the best reception and best phone I've ever had.
Isn't the Opera Minibrowser outrageous? Much better than Webpro or Blazer on my Palms! I think Palm is going to get hurt big time from Opera mini!!!!
