this is no good...imagine when everyone is sleeping in the plane....some body phone rings (Normally Chinese from China like to have their ringtone put to the max)...this is a true spolier to the last place with no ringtone on earth.
Don't think I am racist...I am chinese too but those from China make us all shameful.
Anyway china chinese here? hit me....I don't mind and don't care.....I just can't stand travelling in a plane with this group of lousy traveller any more!!!
I really hope Airbus will not put this as a standard features as it bring no help....every passenge seat already have a pay phone. |

i guess you are not using an normal mobile connection.
For example I assume you are taking BA.....I will assume BA will have an agreement with BT. When you make a call in the plane, you might be charged by special rate tht is only meant for in flight mobile call.
Its like a special cell located in a plane only.....the charge can be same like in flight call but only now, you can receive call beside making call.
Tht's where I scared since there's just too many idiot who like to raise their voice while making or getting call. Especially when you head to you know where....(Refer my first post)...I try to clam down a bit...else all sort of bad words can be posted hahahaha. |

the stuff they tested on board their planes was the possibility of using a mobile phone switched on and not interfering with the instruments on board. |

yes but this is the next step already isn't it: allowing phones to be on during flights

One of the small pleasures of the London Underground is the lack of network access. They're planning to install a service soon and it's going to be even more awful being stuck in tunnels.

if we all find it awful to have the crowd around us using their phones... who are the people using their phones and annoying others for useless convo's on trains and such?

This is a possibility that hopefully never came true. Phones working in flight are a mayor problem with flight safety, and safety departments from airlines sure will ban it. I say this as a crew member, and its implementation will be disturbing to other passsengers and sure will became a huge safety problem.

The latest research suggests there's NO risk to plane safety/navigation equipment from mobile phones, hence the possibility of mobile service provision.

I think if they build it in on a plane it's not plane security that is at risk here. However panicking passengers may be a problem of course

Not me! I try to respect other people. I switch off my phone in the cinema and restaurants etc.
I also find in noisy places mobile users assume because they can't hear the other person very well, the other person can't hear them and they shout. Grrr!
*SOME* mobile users are inconsiderate. |
