I''ve got a lot of SMS messages on my phone which I'd like to store on my computer, but I'm unable to find anything that works!
I've downloaded just about everything mentioned in this forum, but nothing really does what I want it to.

Either the software doesn't support infra-red, or it doesn't work with my phones (T-310 and Z-600), or... the software simply doesn't work!

The most promising piece of software according to what I've read is "Float's mobile agent", but no matter what I do I can't get any sort of response from it.

I've downloaded the latest version (1.1.16), and set it up to use USB IrDA (infra-red). I know for a fact that my infra-red hardware works. I've used it a lot to transfer ring-tones and pictures back and forth between the computer and the phones. I can either do this from the Windows desktop, or the many programs I've downloaded for theme editing, picture software etc.

When I'm inside the "Tools"->"Options" menu of FMA there's a button marked "Lookup device". I put my phone close to the computer's IrDA hardware, and after a few seconds a connection is established, then I press the mentioned button in FMA. I wait and wait. Nothing happens. Then I press the button again. This time it says "Searching..." and after a couple of seconds it says "Found device: T-300" (even though the phone is actually a T-310, but I guess this is something the manufacturers of the phone have made it be recognized as).

I *always* have to press this button twice for some reason.

As for following the "newbie guide" (http://fma.sourceforge.net/index2.htm) for FMA... I've done that, and tried everything else, but nothing happens. I hold the mouse pointer over the FMA mobile-phone icon on the right bottom side of the screen. It *always* reads "Fma -Not Connected" regardless of having established an IrDA communication between the PC and the phone.

So what do I do? I've tried earlier versions of FMA as well, but since I now have broadband I decided to download the latest version to see if my luck had changed.

Is there any other software that allows me to transfer SMS messages (and possibly the phone book and other things) to the computer *and* displays them there?
As long as I can read the saved messages on the computer I have more or less what I want.
