I think this forum was created for the online service and not for O2 issues, those problems happen to the owner of O2 phone because you dont spend money for a unbranded phone, so please create another forum for O2 K700 |

If your refering to this thread when you say forum, then yes - i know it was created for the discussion of the SE online update service, and if you read the end of my post I did make an effort to try and get the thread back on topic.
And these problems don't simply happen because I didn't choose to buy an unbranded phone - an stated earlier in this thread, this is a temporary problem that O2 and SE are addressing. If i can get a huge discount on the price of a handset because of my contract with O2 then I would be stupid not to take that opportunity. Particularily so because the O2 branding is so minimal - only a O2 icon on the menu, and startup/shutdown screensavers that i actually like.
Its still early days with this service but i'm sure they will get this problem sorted asap so i may update my firmware. |

I totally agree. Anyway the only problem with buying a O2 phone is this online update that will probably be working soon.

Hi
Tried to update my Voda K700i last night using the Online Update Service. It told me there was no update for my operator. I thought other users on this forum had posted that they managed to do it?

I've tried last night to update my Vodafone K700 and the service says that my operator doesn't allow the use of SE online update service.
This means: for now it's not possible to update branded Vodafone K700 online. |

Hi, Was just about to purchase sync station to update when i noticed this about 02. Now ive got an o2 phone, but nowhere on it does it say about O2, not even stat up etc or icon. Does this mean i am too screwed or have i got away with it?

I would bet that you would get away with it! But don't quote me on that
People on here with virtually unbraded O2 phones seem to be doing ok with the update service. Where did you get your phone? If memory serves me right, there was one guy with a K700i from an O2 shop and another with one from the Carphone Warehouse - and it worked for them.

It was an online deal - e2save.com, and they're part of Carphone WH so i reckon ill give it a go, need some sort of connection to the pc now anyway as i rolled over my last one and snapped it off! get them for about £18 inc delivery so only a tenner more than the cheapest alternative.
Thanks for the reply |
