My usual source is no longer available. Can anyone suggest where the latest widcomm drivers can be found? I am currently using a Cambridge Silicon Graphics dongle.

I assume you mean Cambridge Silicon Radio? They supply chips to several manufacturers.

Many manufacturers use drivers from Widcomm, but Widcomm does not (as far as I know) supply drivers to end-users.

Your best bet is the web-site of the company that has it's label on your dongle.

... or, alternatively, download the latest drivers from IBM or another company that supplies 1.4.3.4. You will need to use the patcher found on the link below to enable you to use these drivers on devices other than the ones they were intended for. WIDCOMM drivers are very good, especially compared to XPSP2's drivers, but their licencing sucks! I see no reason why they can't just release generic drivers like ATI or nVidia do for their graphics cards.

Take a look at the following link:

Thanks for the link but it says on there that the link to the IBM downloads has had to be deleted. Are there any other links for these Widcomm Drivers?

Also, you mentioned somethnig about WIN XP SP2 drivers. I have SP2 now on my PC. Does this mean XP natively now supports bluetooth? I was unaware of this! How do I go about setting up a bluetooth connection through WinXP then?

Thanks for the info ESTOR. I have downloaded the Widcomm driver v1.4.3.4 from the site you mentioned. I believe this is the only file I require? Not sure if I require the other two files you mentioned in your post though. I am currently running XP SP2.

In a previous post, it was mentioned that this widcomm driver would need to be patched in order for it to work with non IBM products. But I cannot see such a patcher to be downloaded off the "Jons Guides" website.

Has the link to this patcher also had to be deleted do you think and if so where can I get this patcher??

You only need to download the first file.

You can find the patch file here. Use the link that is not jonscaife.
