I recently bought a usb cable dcu-11 for my k700, so I could transfer files easily and fast. I installed the drivers for the cable and the SE file manager. It works , but if I want to put an mp3 on my fone, it takes more then one hour (for 4mb)! how can i help this? thanks |

If you buy a bluetooth dongle it will usually take only a few minutes.

yeah I know. but with that cable you can upgrade the firmware. it's a little faster then bluetooth and the most important is that is was 40 euro. and for that money, i want it to work. sony ericsson has some very nice cellphones but from my experience their software for the pc is sh*t |

I have Dcu cable also. It is the slowest way of transfering files! 4Mb takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. Bluetooth didnt work well for me, I might try infra red sometime. You just have to be patient with cable speed sorry. |

its an usb cable. the whole point of buying an usb cable is cause it's the fastest way to transmit data. I've send an email to the SE costumer care. they gave me some settings for com-ports but it doesn't help... now i have to telephone them. the package of that cable also sais : "fast data transmission" ... 4 mb in 1.5 hour is not super fast... it is possible to get good speeds. just look on the SE site

usb is 'the fastest way to transfer' but its the cable that is slow.

I think we all should send our complains to Sony Ericsson. I also bought that cable because I thought my IR was slow. IR is faster than DCU-11 and that made me to feel really disappointed because that cable isn't cheap at all. Now I own a BT dongle and that works just fine. |

.... the fones of SE are great but ... the software and the pc connection is sh*t... So they say 'fast data transmission" but they actually mean "it could be possible, but it isnt"? then I dont understand why SE is trying to help me to reach a better connection with that dcu-11 when it's not possible to go any faster.... :-/
pfff, now i have to buy a bt dongle, because the cable is worthless. the cable wasn't that cheap, especialy for that kind of crap

Have you tried using FMA software yet? My DSS-25 USB desk stand was really slow using the standard sony software to transfer, but using FMA is much quicker?
Also try setting your com port 4 to max speed possible. Mine was on a default 9600 baud!

I m using a MA-620 USB irda adapter .. .it gives me 2.2 kb/sec transfer rate .. measured with "k700 dateimanager"
is it possible to achieve any higher speedS over infra?? |

Try adjusting the damn speed for the COM port the cable is attached to, instead of just sitting there and complain about slow speeds. Only a few older models (T2xx/3xx) have slow, restricted speed for the cable at 9600. The others you can adjust. |
