Ahead of the telecom trade fair in Singapore (18-21 June), Ericsson has called for a press conference in Stockholm next Monday (17 June).
All in all, it is expected some 30 colour screen devices will be available for European/Asian customers by end of this year and they are going to announce this on coming Monday.
So far this is all I have. If I get any more info... I will tell you guys. I got this info from my stock broking friends in London. Hope this info cheers you guys |

Ok... just to confirm that this is not rumor... here is what I find on my Reuters screen (the one I use during trading for getting stock market information)
_____________
STOCKHOLM, June 13 (Reuters) - Swedish-Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson will present new mobile phones at a news conference in Stockholm on Monday.
"We are going to present exciting things from our focus area -- pictures in mobile phones and entertainment," the company said in a statement. A source said the company would launch new mobile phones, but not a third generation handset.
The products to be shown at the press meeting will be later exhibited by Sony Ericsson at the ComminicAsia trade show in Singapore on June 18-21.
Sony Ericsson, created last year from loss-making mobile phone units of Japan's consumer electronics group Sony Corp <6758.T> and Swedish telecoms equipment maker Ericsson , wants to become market leader in five years.
Its market share fell to 6.4 percent in the first quarter and it now ranks as the fifth largest mobile phone maker after world leader Nokia Oyj , Motorola Inc , Samsung Corp <00830.KS> and Siemens AG .
Sony Ericsson, which expects to be profitable this year, is the first mobile phone maker in Europe selling handsets with colour screens and the ability to send pictures taken by a clip-on camera in the same way as the popular short text messages (SMS).

This doen't sound too trustworthy. Thirty products is a lot, and end of the year seems to early. Also, Ericsson is not making cellular phones anymore, (SonyEricsson does), so why would they have a press conference about that?

Ok, so you _were_ referring to Sony Ericsson. Then I take back my comment on untrustworthyness.
But I still think 30 products seems far too much and end of this year a bit too early...
But who knows? I hope you are right!

I'll be going to CommunicAsia next week, so I'll let you know. But from what I heard, SE will have a pretty big presence there, with one of the biggest booths.
Hopefully plenty of booth babes

Interesting. SE has before said that in the end of the year they only are going to sell colorscreen mobiles! The number of 30 would surprise me though!

30 products doesn't necessarily mean that they are all phones. They could be some phones, some cameras, some bluetooth items etc...
The source is very trust worthy! I trade millions using his information. He trades millions using my information
But I guess this thread should stay in 'rumours' till the end of the press conference on Monday |

Well actually, when thinking about it some more, 30 products may not be that much after all. Let's say that there would be:
One follow up of the T68 with Java and polyphonic ring tones
One medium range color phone
One "low-cost" color phone
One "japanese style" flip phone
Now multiply this by 5 to support GSM, TDMA, CDMA, UMTS only (for the Japanese market) and version with chinese characters.
= 20 products already.
The rest could be fancy-looking chargers, handsfree equipment, batteries of different sizes, smaller snap-on radios and MP3s, etc.
Just a speculation.
