I have seen several posts here with folks stating the firmware revision on their phone. How do I check that? If it needs an update, how to i get the firmware updated in the USA?

you should start by reading the Answers to the most common questions on Esato Forums (FAQ style) which will tell you how to check your firmware and inform you that you need to take your phone to a service centre but they are few are far between in US so you may need to post it off to if it really does need to be updated
