What's up with these eBay guys selling newly released SE phones? We all know that the model has not been released yet. For example, the SE S700i. When the K700i came out, it was the same thing. You click on their eBay link and it says:

"I do not provide you the phone, only the link where you can buy this phone for $40., etc."

The sad part is, I see all these dumb people bidding on the info. Once, I saw the bidding go up to $150. How stupid can these bidders be? How desperate can one really be? - to have a newly released phone before every one else? To show off to your friends?

I see a lot of these eBay scam/fraud going on, and I can only laugh. I guess some people are really THAT dumb...

Any one try to bid on one of these eBay scams? What's the theory behind this "secret" information/link that desperate people are trying to get hold of???

@monster: You mean you bid on these? So you are paying £40, but you still have to wait until the phone is on general release? Or am i misunderstanding you?

yeh, they are all pyramid scams, so the more people who take part, the less likely they are too recieve any goods.

this has been discussed before.

Take a look here for my thread on these 'pyramid' schemes.

Basically, I bidded on one, partially through curiosity, and partially because I wanted the phone, and ended up about 12th on the list of people to recieve the phone. Basically, it would need 300 more people to join this list before I got my phone. You could get a phone for £20 or $40, but you would have to make sure you were first or second on the list. However, I suspect the owners of these sites don't update their lists as often as they should, so more people join thinking they will be top of the list.

Avoid if I were you, they're on very dodgy ground legally, and make their owners a huge amount of money for almost no effort.
