I've downloaded a number of games for my K700 and after transferring them to my phone they only show up in the "other" folder and I can't get them to work. Anyone have any ideas? |

they are not in the right format. You didn't download them as .jar files, but as .zip or .rar files. You will need to re-download them, and this time when you click save, change in the box where it says save as **** file type, change that to any file type. Then call the file gamewhatever.jar
this will save it as a .jar file on your pc and will mean that when you put it onto the phone, the phone will see it is a game and put it into the game folder.

I know that when I downloaded them they were *.zip files so I unzipped them and they came out as *.jar files. Are you saying that instead of unzipping them I should just change the extension to *.jar?

depends, usually you just download them in .jar format, unless it is a bundle of games. What site where you using?

I had the same problem, but while you are downloading the games, press 'save as' and add '.jar' to their names. Save them this way, and you'll see that they will be downloaded as WinRAR files. Do not unzip (or unrar) them, send them to the phone as they are, and there you go! |

I've tried all of the above, renaming when downloading with "save as", renaming from *.zip to *.jar after download. Nothing seems to work. They just end up in the 'other' folder on my phone. I got them from the K700 forum at http://www.myforum.lasyk.net/forumdisplay.php?f=50
The games are crash bandicoot, nightmare creatures and excitebike. I'm finding it very confusing. Can anyone tell me exactly what the K700 is compatible with software wise? Surely there is some sort of list of what it can and cannot run? |

it should work if you rename when downloading as long as you change the file type as well.
I havn't had any luck with changing the name after it is downloaded.

Try the ones from www.mobile9.com, for they surely work when you do save as and then add .jar to their names. See if those work. |
