esato is DOING fine!!!
there are enough mods, they do a great job. |

relax dude
I don't think this thread is suggesting anything at all about team esato not doing a fine job in it's present state. It's merely an open inquiry for what members would like to see in any potential new mod. There is nothing really wrong with that
And in the end IF there should be a new mod appointed it's not any of the posters in this thread..... but laffen who decided anyway. So chill

@jn
just because you are online '24/7' does NOT mean you are worthy of being a moderator. I think Vlamm because she is sensible, has a laugh (like tranquil ) but can be very on-topic and helpful. Boba is too obsessed with ericsson aswell
peace

What a nippy wee sweety! Thank you for that most articulate of posts explaining your point and where you think I have gone wrong. I would like to direct you to my initial post, which in no way insinuates that the current moderators are doing anything, but a top notch job, nor does it say that we need another moderator; being two lines long I can see why you may have missed this when you read through it.
The aim of this thread was to initiate a discussion on who the members of Esato would consider to be a good moderator in the hypothetical situation that Esato was to have another moderator. The last time I checked Esato was a discussion forum and the 'Esato Forum' was the place to discuss issues regarding Esato, like this. Most members enjoy a civilised discussion and having a spot of fun at the same time, which we were doing until you posted.
Your opinion is of course valid, but perhaps you would care to check the validity of your points the next time you decide to post.

What about to come back where @scotty started? Some more such 'discussions' and this thread will to garbage imo.

@boba
Quite right boba.
@all
I think Vlamm would make a corking moderator.

Same opinion here about vlammetje. Do miss the female presence at moderating.

@vanquish - Possible candidates must be . . . . oh never mind, I think I lost my temper, ohh I mean some suitable words back there to express my reply fully - my apologies!
@all - Looks like were going back to the old and now locked - 'Let's vote Vlammetje as the next Moderator' - here ! Though @bobafett is just getting quite a number of positive votes as well ! |

Locked per my own request mind you.
Wouldn't it be better to vote characteristics instead of actual names without motivation? Just wondering....

sorry vlammy and bobafett but i don't think you two are sufficient candidates.
first of all, bobafett has the attitude of a good mod, but he is on wap too much. You can't really moderate all that much from wap.
And i think vlammy is too hot-tempered to be a mod. I don't know whether that will change if she becomes a mod, but as of right now, my vote is no.

How important is popularity to the post of moderator? Is it more essential for a moderator to be popular with the rank and file even if that means picking a candidate who isn't as capable in the job as another candidate?

@boba
Of course, within the context of this thread I am referring to a hypothetical situation.
