Vodafone and K700i |

I understand Vodafone locks certain functions down on this phone and that the battery life is not brilliant but I have also heard that there is a firmware update available for this phone to increase the battery life.
Now my question, can the firmware be updated on the vodafone version of the K700i or am I living in hope beacuse of the fact they lock the phone down?
Thanks Ivan |

You can update your firmware, but you will not get rid of what vodafone has looked I think =( |

I don't think Vodas is allowing firmware updates at the moment if I'm not mistaken.
K700 Vodafones are locked tight.

Its true, I tried to get the firmware upgraded at my local SE service centre, but it didn't work because the vodafone software stops any upgrades to the phone. I was really annoyed! Does anyone know, if for example the orange k700i, is upgradeable? |

I have spoken with two different SE service centres today and have been told that it is possible to do the fw upgrade on Vodafone. I'm taking mine in for an upgrade soon. I'll let you know if it works.
