Passed Sunday, the system which allows mobile users to find missing children via reception of messages in their mobile telephones, marked its first success in Jeonju of North Korea, hundred days after the beginning of its operation. This service, which is a product of the collaboration of the local company of mobile telephony SK Telecom and the Police Authorities, sends photograph and description of the missing child to subscribers to help the search.
The first "lucky" child that was found, was the 14 year's old Ms. Pak who watched a film at the cinema on 21 of April with her mother, Ms. Lee, in the region Mokpo. At the duration of the film the girl was bored and left from the cinema and got lost. As soon as the mother of the unlucky girl realised what happened, she went directly to the Police and gave a photograph of her girl as well as her description (age, height, clothing etc).
The Police sent the elements to 700000 mobile users, officers as well were included. Finally, a nurce that works in a hospital in Jeonju observed that the photograph that received in her mobile had a big resemblances with a girl that was found under her monitoring. She then, informed the Police and after it was ascertained that indeed the girl was Ms. Pak, the parents got informed and now they are all together again.
With this success of the system, the Police reported that from 15 millions subscribers of SK Telecom, 6.3 million subscribers until now have agreed to participate in the service, while at the same time another company, KTF, prepares her own proportional service.
